<abstract>The dataset provides location of ponds (man-made and natural) within the City of Redmond city limits. Some of the outlines originated from the 1993 Aerial photography project identified during the Sewer Comprehensive Plan update while other outlines were created using heads up digitizing using contours or aerial photos. The outline represents a pond outlines as they were in April of 1993. No updates have been performed since that time. The original data was delivered in Microstation (CAD) format and later imported into GeoMedia/MS Access warehouse. In July 2006, this dataset was mergered into SQL Server Database Environmental as a feature class.</abstract>
<purpose>The purpose of the data set is to provide location of all man-made and natural ponds in the City of Redmond. This dataset is used to create a comprehensive hydraulic network</purpose>

<othercit>The Water and Sewer Facilities Management Inventory project was initiated in March, 1993 by the Water and Sewer Utilities division of the Public Works Department. The date of photos was 04/14/1993. The planimetric (digital) maps were delivered in Microstation DGN (CAD) format. These CAD files were delivered as quarter sections, with and overlap, in the 1 inch = 100 feet scale. The project included the following features; pre-marked survey monument cases, roads (paved and gravel), trails and paths, parking lots, tanks and reservoirs, water vaults, water valves, water meters, fire hydrants, sewer manholes and cleanouts, sewer pump stations, lake, ponds, streams, and building (commercial, industrial, and multi-family) outlines. In 1995 the Public Works Stormwater division and the Planning department awarded a second contract to Nies Mapping group. The second contract included the delivery of aerial photos (black and white 4 inch pixel resolution and color 1 ft, 2 ft, and 4 ft pixel resolution photos). Additionally 2 and 10 foot contours were also delivered. The photos were delivered in TIFF format. The contours were delivered in AutoCAD (CAD) format</othercit>

Pixel resolution of the photos is 0.5 ft and the photo scale 1 inch = 600 feet. 86 images were mosaicked to produce 3000 ft x 3000ft tiles. The images were delivered in uncompressed TIFF version 6 format. The images were later compressed to MrSID format by city staff.
