Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>Layer identifying the location of commercial, mixed use, multifamily, single family, and underground building structures in the City of Redmond. Most of the building outlines originated from 1993 aerial photography project identified during the Sewer Comprehensive Plan update. Single family building outlines were omitted during the project. Furthermore, in 1999 under separate contract with Triathlon Ltd. (formally Nies Mapping Group, Inc.) additional commercial, multifamily, and building additions were captured from the 1999 aerial photos. From that point forward, new building outlines have been mapped from paper and/or electronic record drawings and construction drawings. The original data was delivered in Microstation (CAD) format and later imported into GeoMedia/MS Access warehouse. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>In the Fall of 2008, a project was initiated to map all single family homes including detached single family garages within the City Limits and UPDs from the 2004 Aerial Photography. Description: The datasets provides a geographic location of water fire hydrants, fire blowoffs, fire department connections, and dry standpipes within the City of Redmond city limits and in the UPD (Urban Planned Development) areas located east of Redmond. The locations of the hydrants were derived from field verification, paper and electronic record drawings, and/or construction drawings. Mapping of the water hydrants was initiated in 1995 by the Water/Wastewater Engineering Division. The initial mapping occurred within Microstation (Bentley, Inc.) software environment and Lynx (Ch2MHill Engineering). Lynx was an AM/FM (automated mapping facility management) add-on to Microstation. Also, portion of the water system maintained by the former Rose Hill Water District was imported into the Lynx system. The Rose Hill portion of the water system was originally in AutoCAD (dwg) format. Accuracy and mapping techniques for that portion of the water system is unknown. In 2004 the data were migrated to GeoMedia and SQL Server 2000 database. The dataset is being maintained on daily basis by the GIS Services group

Description: The AddressPoint feature class was created due to the need for the City of Redmond to have a single and accurate address database containing addresses and their geographical location down to the building level of detail. This master address database was created by combining all addresses from the City of Redmond’s multiple business systems (Permits Plus (Real Property), FDM, and Business License). These systems were compiled into a single master address list showing all currently known Redmond and UPD addresses. The list contained accurate addresses as well as duplicates, errors, and many were missing or not current. A GIS point feature class was generated for each individual address from the master list and associated with its appropriate Parcel linked from the PIN. Parcels having multiple addresses received multiple point features; one for each address. After the initial feature class was created, field workers from the Police and Fire departments performed extensive field checks to verify every address except for single family residential. They walked on foot to each unit of each condo, apartment, etc. to verify the correct address. They hand wrote down each addresses then brought those field notes into the office for GIS Services technicians to enter the field notes into the database.
